Forensic Psychiatry Act
The Forensic Psychiatry Act is the BC law that oversees the work of Forensic Psychiatric Services.
The Act created the Forensic Psychiatric Services Commission. Forensic Psychiatric Services is accountable to the commission.
The commission provides forensic psychiatric services to the courts in British Columbia and gives expert forensic psychiatric evidence. It also plans, organizes and conducts research and education to learn more about the diagnosis, treatment and care of forensic psychiatric patients.
