The Communications and Engagement team at BC Mental Health and Substance Use Services is available to assist media with their enquiries. Requests outside of regular business hours are managed by the Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA) on-call representative. BC Mental Health and Substance Use Services is a program of PHSA.

We review all media enquiries during regular business hours and will respond in a timely manner.
In the evenings, over weekends and during public holidays, our after-hours team monitors the media line until 10 p.m. Calls received after 10 p.m. are returned the next morning after 7 a.m.
Please leave a detailed voicemail and remember to include your email, 10-digit telephone number, including an extension if applicable, and your deadline for response.
Media interviews and escorts
Prior to visiting BC Mental Health and Substance Use Services’ sites, all media must connect with the program's communications team in advance: ben.hadaway@phsa.ca. If additional assistance is required, call the PHSA media line at 778-867-7472.
This includes all journalists and representatives of news and trade media organizations, including but not limited to producers of online content, bloggers, videographers and filmmakers.
